SUSTAINABILITY

In addition to carefully selecting our ingredients, with over 50% coming from Wisconsin farms and small-batch artisans who take care in the food they create, we are also committed to ensuring that we are operating as environmentally friendly as possible.

In 2022 Tall Guy and a Grill was certified as a Green Caterer by the Green Restaurant Association, the first caterer in Wisconsin to obtain this designation!

SAVINGS

As a result of environmental initiatives taken at our location, we can save the following amounts of energy, water, waste, and money annually.

  • 61,275 kWh of Electricity

Equivalent to taking 9.1 passenger vehicles off the road for one year

  • 134,314 Gallons of Water

Equivalent to the amount of water to fill 12.3 backyard swimming pools

  • 50,000 Pounds of Waste

The annual amount diverted from landfills through our waste diversion program

 TOP TEN ENVIRONMENTAL STEPS

  • Our facility is Styrofoam-Free, which keeps harmful chemicals and litter out of our environment.

  • Composting Kitchen Scraps and Recycling Plastics, Glass, Aluminum, Cardboard, and Paper can keep up to 80% of our waste out of landfills.

  • Our Energy Star Dishwasher, Printer, and Combination Oven are 30-40% more efficient than conventional models.

  • Over 23% of our main dishes are Vegetarian or Vegan, which require significantly less energy and water to produce than meat-based dishes.

  • By offering Reusable Dishware, we keep waste out of landfills and conserve natural resources.

  • Our exhaust hoods have Variable Volume Control, which use only as much energy as necessary.

  • Our walk-in cooler has been fitted with Strip Curtains, and saves enough electricity to power a residential home for an entire year.

  • White Roofs such as ours reduce summer energy use by 10–40%, saving money and preventing pollution.

  • We installed Low-Flow Aerators and High-Efficiency Pre-Rinse Sprayers, saving enough water to fill over 12 backyard swimming pools per year.

  • We use Occupancy Sensors in our Restrooms, which use approximately 60% less energy compared to a traditional switch.
