Recipe for Raspberry Jalapeño Poppers

Berry Jalapeno Poppers

Recipe for Raspberry Jalapeño Poppers

I’ve spent a lot of time at bachelor parties over the years, and really enjoyed getting out with the guys for my own – we took in a Brewer’s game and had a nice steak dinner afterward. Although it was a pretty chill afternoon with the guys, I knew the food for the tailgate had to be bold and fun – which is where poppers come in!

These are easy to prepare ahead of time and grill at the park (or in your yard for that matter!) and the berries add just the right amount of sweet to the spicy peppers – hope you enjoy (and gals, these are great for bachelorette parties, too!). Here is our Recipe for Raspberry Jalapeño Poppers!

Raspberry Jalapeno Poppers

These raspberry jalapeño poppers are just the thing! I mashed up fresh raspberries in the cream cheese and basted the bacon-wrapped peppers with berry jam. You might think this would make it too sweet, but think again. These guys pack a nice, spicy punch!

If your party starts at someone’s house, throw these in the oven for 30 minutes and serve with the pre-game beer before heading out. Otherwise, cook over indirect heat on the grill once at your parking spot.

Tall Guy's Sweet and Spicy Jalapeno Poppers

Raspberry Jalapeño Poppers (makes 20 bites)

Ingredients

  • 10 jalapeño peppers
  • 1/4 cup raspberries, mashed
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 10 slices bacon
  • 1/4 cup berry jam

Instructions

Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully remove seeds and core.

Using a fork, mix raspberries and cream cheese together. Spread cream cheese mixture in each of the pepper halves.

Loosely wrap each pepper with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.*

Bake at 375 or grill over in-direct heat for 30-35 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Then baste the poppers with the berry jam and continue cooking for 5 minutes.

Remove from oven and serve.

*Poppers can be prepared ahead of time up to this point. Place in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.

If you’re in charge of the whole tailgate party before a Brewer, Badger, or Packer game, think about Tall Guy! We would love to provide the delicious food for your group. We could do basic burgers and brats, BBQ pork, or something a little more gourmet. Even better – we’ll take care of set-up and clean-up, so you can focus on your games and the man of the hour.
