Tall Guy’s Top Ways To Give Back & Show Local Love
Giving back to the community is important to the Tall Guy team. While there are many ways to contribute year-round, some of my favorite ways to give back and show our local love are coming up this fall. And, you can participate, too!
There’s Always Opportunities To Give Back
We frequently donate food to Just One More Ministry, an organization that cares for Milwaukee’s hungry. Something that I love about this nonprofit: they also offer hope and dignity to those suffering addictions in our community. You can give back, too, by volunteering, donating, or giving food any time of year.
Give Back And Enjoy Milwaukee’s Coolest Theaters
Each year, there are three major events that I just have to be a part of. As a Milwaukee native, I’m proud to have something as impressive as the Milwaukee Film Festival to call our own.
Donations to Milwaukee Film brings this nationally recognized festival to actualization. However, year-round donations also aid in offering Education and Filmmaker Services Programs. This is how I see it: donating to this organization lets our native talent shine and we get to reap the benefits with amazing films showing all over the city. I’m happy to say that we will be donating a Tall Guy spread for this year’s Milwaukee Film Festival!
Is Halloween More Your Thing?
First of all, who doesn’t love Halloween – or an excuse to get dressed up in costume? Well, you have the perfect excuse with Local First Milwaukee‘s annual event: Food Fright!
As many of you know, I’m proud to sit on the board of Local First Milwaukee for many reasons. First, their mission to help local businesses thrive is at the forefront of everything they do. Second, they have several events each year that spotlight Milwaukee’s local food scene. Who can’t stand behind that?
Last year’s Food Fright – held at Lakefront Brewery – was a blast. Not to brag, but the Tall Guy team took home the 2016 curator trophy, so watch out 2017 competitors! Each year, there are over a dozen local restaurants and chefs that compete in the “Foodie Face-Off” with small plate samples.
I encourage you to walk around, sample some great food, and maybe ask a question or two about how they got started or how they source ingredients. You can learn a lot about the hard work and pride that goes into providing food for our great city.
As always, we’re excited to compete for a good cause. The profits from the Food Fright event will help Local First Milwaukee continue their great mission.
Light The Night
Less than eight weeks away is another important local event that Tall Guy donates to, Light The Night at Veteran’s Park. I really hope you consider attending this event led by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your registration helps them invest more than one billion in cancer research – whoa! Talk about making a difference.
Whether you can attend these great charitable events or not, I hope you can see the potential for getting involved in your community year-round and enjoying some great food while you’re at it. Do you have an impactful, charitable event coming up that you need to be catered? The Tall Guy team not only can help – we want to help! Give us a call today at (414)777-0770 or contact us here.
