Our West Allis Doors Are Now Open | Another Tall Guy Milestone In The Books
Our doors are officially open – come in and check out the new Tall Guy location in West Allis! While we’ve been catering your awesome private parties, weddings, and corporate get-togethers over the last year, we’ve also been planning our very own milestone. Below are some of the highlights of our successful grand opening and all of the gratitude I have for everyone that made it possible.
Time Flies (When You’re Tall Guy)
Just seven years ago, my day-to-day involved processing retirement accounts for a local bank and working on the Tall Guy vision on the side. You can see why it’s pretty exciting to say that we’ve outgrown our East Tosa space in just over four years. Our new space allows us to host wedding tastings more comfortably, cook for larger parties, and hire more employees which was really exciting for the Tall Guy team.
The People Behind The Tall Guy Grand Opening
Of course, I have to take the time to thank those that have supported the Tall Guy vision from day 1 – but especially as we took on this goal to expand and grow. Not only have my own my friends and family been supportive – it’s been great to see the Tall Guy team as a whole come together and make this all happen.
You hear me talk about Local First Milwaukee and the outstanding work I see this non-profit do city-wide. However, the small business owners that make up this organization have been some of the most supportive members of the community. It makes me proud to be a board member, to say the least.
So what is the best part about moving into a new space? New neighbors which include The Farmer’s Wife, Crawdaddy’s, and the city’s first craft brewery, Westallion Brewing Co. Also, having a visit from West Allis Mayor, Dan Devine, was pretty special, too. We’re excited about getting to know the business owners of West Allis and we hope we can share a beer or two with all of them.
Let’s Talk About The Food Already
Now that I’ve shared what and who got us to this point of having such a successful grand opening, it’s time to talk about the food and drinks we prepared for our guests.
Our Farm Stand Station is one of our most popular menu items for just about every event we cater.
We start with a variety of Wisconsin cheeses, including soft and hard cheeses, and of course, cheese curds. Thanks to Vern’s Cheese Company, we had the following flavorful cheeses available for our guests to choose from:
- Dill Havarti
- Cranberry Muenster
- Garlic Cheddar
- Apple Cinnamon
- Sharp White Cheddar
What makes cheese taste even better? Potter’s Crackers and locally Wisconsin sausage! With options such as house-made pickles, seasonal kimchi, and pickled mustard seed, there are endless flavor combinations.
Lastly, we wanted our friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues to be able to mingle while still enjoying the food. We knew our Creole Shrimp Cocktail Skewers would be the answer! Everyone enjoyed these bold bites, especially with a slight drizzle of Louisiana style remoulade.
With a “create your own” layout at our Bloody Mary and Prosecco Bar, our friends and neighbors were able to create a completely different drink every time they refilled their glass.
The truth is when you throw a party you never know what to expect. We were overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who showed up, enjoyed a beverage, and helped us celebrate a Tall Guy milestone. We can’t wait for what’s to come!
